Issue #10 features artists from border towns and the territorial boundaries of their works. On this issue, we look at their practice from an environmental and a multicultural landscape that sees beyond an era facing closures and governmental curfews.
Barbed’s latest issue will emphasize the existent contrast between artists’ works depicting resilience against boundless borders, focusing on the body, consumerism, and materiality. The featured works include Tijuana/Veracruz in Mexico, Detroit, Michigan, Windsor, Canada, and cities in Israel, including Jerusalem. The issue focuses on works created by members of minority groups, allies, and artists who called these cities their home.
